The Lion Dance

These lions are dancing through the streets of Chinatown, dodging exploding firecrackers.  They dance to the banging of cymbals and the beating of drums manned by various Kung Fu academies.  They  help scare away the evil spirits from businesses, restaurants, banks, and family associations, and they bring good wishes to the establishments. In turn, the lions are given donations of good luck money, lai see, to the local Chinese Hospital and other Chinese charities.
